Why can't I add a password?
[email protected] does not support AES encryption via its save() API. Full password-adding support requires a commercial SDK like Apryse or Nutrient.
What is identity encryption?
Some PDFs are flagged as encrypted but use an identity (null) cipher — they don't actually restrict content. pdf-lib can open and re-save these without the encryption flag.
