Put the walkthrough into practice
Preview without sending. Add your own business number before publishing.
A short walkthrough with fictional data. No audio; English captions explain each step. The full written instructions are below.
1. Choose questions that improve the first reply
Start with an agency project, appointment, or product enquiry preset in Replylane. Each provides a short welcome and a few questions. Applying a different preset asks before replacing the welcome and questions; it preserves the business name, phone number, color, and privacy link.
Make the questions specific enough to be useful. An appointment enquiry can ask for the service, preferred day, and time of day. A product enquiry can ask for an item and whether the visitor needs availability, size, or delivery information. Keep passwords, identity documents, health details, and payment information out of the form.
Which service interests you? When would you prefer to visit? What time of day works best? Welcome: We will confirm availability in our reply.
2. Make the destination recognizable
Replace the example business name and enter the WhatsApp number you want visitors to contact, including the country code. Add your public HTTPS privacy policy if you have one. The number and form configuration are public information inside the share link and embed code.
Edit the welcome so it sets the right expectation. A request for an appointment does not reserve a slot. A product enquiry does not create or pay for an order. The business still needs to respond and confirm the next step.
3. Test the visitor’s complete flow
Use the interactive preview to fill out the form with fictional answers. Required questions must be answered, and multiple-choice questions accept the choices you configured. Review the message summary to check that the conversation will make sense to the person receiving it.
The builder preview does not send a message. In a published form, the visitor reviews the summary, chooses to open WhatsApp, and then decides whether to send. Replylane does not send automatic replies, verify a visitor’s identity, or save their answers in a lead database.
4. Share a link or install the widget
In Publish, select “Generate link & embed.” Open the standalone form link to check the actual visitor view. If you do not manage a website, that link is enough to share the form. Otherwise, copy the generated script into your site to add a floating button that opens it.
Test the installed button on desktop and a phone, including keyboard access and the destination number. Sites with a Content Security Policy must permit Replylane’s script and frame as described in the app guide. Use your actual generated code; a screenshot of the code cannot install a widget.
Editing the builder does not update links already shared. Generate a new link and replace the old script on your site when the configuration changes. This also applies after switching presets.
5. Keep a configuration you can maintain
Save the draft explicitly on this device or export its JSON configuration. That backup contains the business setup and questions, not visitor answers. Import it when you need to work in another browser.
The form builder is free. It is independent of Meta and WhatsApp, and it does not activate the optional developer webhook connector. If you use a separate WhatsApp API or provider, check that provider’s current messaging requirements and charges independently.
